Hiring with Costume Closet Company is simple. Browse our collection and choose the costume that suits your performance, then select your hire dates. A 25% deposit secures your booking, with the remaining balance due no later than 4 weeks before dispatch (or in full at the time of booking if you're booking within 4 weeks of dispatch). We'll dispatch your costume in plenty of time for your event, and a prepaid return label is included so sending it back is simple.

Our minimum hire period is 7 days, beginning on the day your costume is dispatched. This includes up to 2 days after your final performance date, giving you time to organise the return.

Accidents happen, and we understand that, especially with the energy that goes into a great performance. You're responsible for any damage, staining, or loss during your hire period, and charges may apply for cleaning, repair, or replacement. If a costume is returned beyond repair, the full commercial replacement cost will be charged. Please check your inventory checklist on receipt and let us know within 48 hours if anything seems missing or incorrect.

Costumes must not be washed or dry cleaned by the Hirer, and they must not be cut, permanently altered, or have embellishments added. Temporary adjustments such as basting stitches or safety pins are fine, as long as they're fully removed before the costume is returned.

Costumes must be returned by the agreed return date. Late returns incur a charge of 20% of the total rental fee per day (or part day) per item. If a costume isn't returned within 7 days of the due date, it may be treated as lost and charged at full commercial replacement value.

Cancellations made more than 4 weeks before dispatch will be refunded, minus the non-refundable 25% deposit. Cancellations made within 4 weeks of dispatch are non-refundable, and any outstanding balance remains payable in full.

Costumes must stay under the supervision of a responsible adult, such as a dance school or teacher, at all times, and should not be sent home with individual dancers. The Hirer is responsible for the costume from dispatch until it's returned to us.
